Clover (Trifolium Repens)

Clover is noticeable by its ball-like flowers, which can often be partially yellow or beige colouring. It has trifoliate green leaves and rapidly growing green stems which grow quickly to spread the weed very efficiently, often becoming large weeds.

As well as propagating new plants, it will take control of a lawn in no time if left untreated. Clover is a nuisance when it invades lawns, as it is very noticeable.

Clover is difficult to control as it easily grows from its own fragments from mowing, stolons propagating new plants and seeds spreading the weed. It’s important clippings are caught from mowing with minimal leakage from the catcher.

Clover infestation is also often a sign of a lack of nitrogen in the soil

At Lawn Addicts, we will help you select the most effective broadleaf weed herbicide to treat clover, based on turf identification. Our online lawn care products catalogue includes glyphosate based herbicide and other specially formulated treatments.
